"A Tribute To Paul Desmond" Radio Campaign
- The international radio campaign for my homage to Paul Desmond began on Jan. 8, 2012. We are receiving rave reviews and are getting play in New York City, Denver, Hawaii and Tel Aviv to name just a few of the places I'd like to visit. Last year, "Things Are Getting Better", hit #2 on the national jazz airplay charts and is locked in at #24 in the nation for 2011! The California Jazz Arts Society (CalJAS) is a Public Benefit Corporation organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation law for public and charitable purposes 501(c)(3). The specific purpose of this corporation is to preserve and promote jazz and other American art forms through public concerts, workshops and presentations. Special guest on this concert is 15year-old CalJAS lesson scholarship recipient, Matthew Caballero on alto saxophone.

Live jazz returns for a eighth season to our beautiful outdoor amphitheater with six performances. Past performances have included Grammy Award winners and other luminaries. Legendary Lighthouse All-Stars musician and impresario Howard Rumsey said of The Muckenthaler Center’s Jazz Festival, The sound is perfect, the lights are perfect. I think this may be the best jazz venue of all time!
All programs begin at 7:30 PM. Six Thursdays: May 22, May 29, June 5, June 12, June 19 & June 26. Ticket prices are $20 in advance, $25 day of concert, or $100 for the entire series.
